Work and Mandate
The Committee is supported by the Panel of Experts established pursuant to resolution 2140 (2014). It was initially comprised of four experts and was expanded to five experts by resolution 2216 (2015). The Panel of Experts is home-based. Its current mandate extends through 15 December 2024 as given by resolution 2758 (2024).

Arms Embargo

The exemption from the targeted arms embargo is guided by the following:

S/RES/2204 (2015)
Extends until 26 February 2016, the time limited assets freeze and travel ban against individuals or entities designated by the Committee; and extends the mandate of the Panel of Experts until 25 March 2016.
S/RES/2140 (2014)
Imposes a travel ban and asset freeze for a period of one year from the date of the adoption of this resolution against individuals or entities designated by the Committee who engage in or provide support for acts that threaten the peace, security and stability of Yemen; and established for initial period of 13 months the Panel of Experts.
S/RES/2216 (2015)
Imposes a targeted arms embargo against individuals or entities designated by the Committee; designates two additional individuals as subject to targeted measures (assets freeze, travel ban and targeted arms embargo); adds violations of the targeted arms embargo and obstruction of the delivery, access to and distribution of humanitarian assistance as designation criteria; and increases the Panel of Experts on Yemen to five members.

Extends until 26 February 2017, the time limited assets freeze and travel ban against individuals or entities designated by the Committee; and extends the mandate of the Panel of Experts until 27 March 2017.
S/RES/2342 (2017)
Extends until 26 February 2018, the time limited assets freeze and travel ban against individuals or entities designated by the Committee; and extends the mandate of the Panel of Experts until 28 March 2018.
S/RES/2402 (2018)
Extends until 26 February 2019, the time limited assets freeze and travel ban against individuals or entities designated by the Committee; and extends the mandate of the Panel of Experts until 28 March 2019.
