As specified in the Note by the President of the Security Council dated 16 January 2016 (S/2016/44), the Facilitator shall brief the other members of the Council on its work and the implementation of resolution 2231 (2015) every six months.
The Security Council, by a Note from its President, dated 16 January 2016, set forth practical arrangements and procedures for the Security Council for carrying out tasks related to the implementation of resolution 2231 (2015), particularly with respect to the provisions specified in paragraphs 2 to 7 of Annex B of that resolution.
Diplomatic efforts to reach a comprehensive, long-term and proper solution to the Iranian nuclear issue culminated in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) concluded on 14 July 2015 by China, France, Germany, the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom, the United States, the High Representative of the European Union (the E3/EU+3) and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
